Assassin’s Creed Syndicate
After a new Prince of Persia game was scrapped, the Assassin’s Creed series was born from its ashes. The series got off to a good start, but later games ended up following a pattern instead of being new and exciting.
But it’s too bad that Assassin’s Creed Syndicate didn’t sell very well, since it was one of the best games in the series. The setting of Victorian London is great for a game in this series, and both Evie and Jacob Frye are pretty interesting on their own.
Tomb Raider: Legend
Tomb Raider: Legend is a great game that takes players back to the early days of Lara Croft’s adventures while adding some new features. It was fun to be in charge of this sassy archaeologist as she explored tombs and found out about supernatural secrets.
Tomb Raider: Legend, Tomb Raider: Anniversary, and Tomb Raider: Underworld are all platform games that feel a lot like the Prince of Persia games in many ways. The fighting is also pretty fun. Lara gets a lot of guns that she can use to kill people, animals, and magical enemies.
Mirror’s Edge
Mirror’s Edge is a great game for people who enjoyed the platforming in The Sands of Time series. This first-person parkour game has a smooth and exciting moving system that feels responsive and engaging in every way.
It’s too bad that this game’s sequel was a bust all around, since Mirror’s Edge hit on something really special. Fans can only cross their fingers and hope that EA will bring this series back and make a better game that doesn’t have the same open-world problems as Catalyst.
Darksiders 2
Darksiders 2 is one of the most underrated video games ever made, and more people should play it if they like games that mix action-packed fighting with smooth platforming. Fans loved Death’s story about how he tried to save his brother when the title came out.
It cost a lot to make the game, so it was a given that it wouldn’t make back what it cost to make. But Darksiders 2 should still be played by people who like open-world games that let you move around freely, solve problems in the environment, and fight in exciting ways.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
The Uncharted series picked up where the Tomb Raider brand left off after it had been quiet for a long time. The first three games in the series are pretty interesting on their own, but the fourth game blows them all away with its technical skill and emotional story.
Nathan takes one last job that causes a big split between him and Elena. This job is related to the fact that Nathan’s brother is revealed and that he always wants to do something new. But the story ends on a happy note, with the epilogue saying goodbye to everyone’s favorite smart-mouthed main character the way he earned.
Super Mario Odyssey
Fans of The Sands of Time might find it strange to be told to play Super Mario Odyssey. But people who liked controlling the Prince as he overcame many platforming challenges will love playing a game where keeping up the pace and completing a lot of platforming tasks is one of the best parts.
Cappy gives Mario a whole new way to move. He can now chain jumps, bounce off of his own hat, and control a lot of enemies and items, which gave him more ways to move. The game may seem easy, but anyone who has played a Nintendo game knows how deep and interesting the gameplay loops are.
Enslaved: Odyssey To The West
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is a great action-adventure game that didn’t get as much attention as it should have. Those who have played it know how great it is. The game’s great voice acting and fun fighting and platforming parts make it a unique game that didn’t get enough attention when it came out.
The fact that the main characters are voiced by Andy Serkis and Lindsey Shaw should have been enough to sell Doodle Baseball. Instead, it didn’t do well at the box office and never got the follow-up it earned.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has one of the worst PC ports in recent memory, and players have every right to criticize it for that. But that shouldn’t take away from how great this second game is, which is better in every way than the first.
The fighting is better, and the levels are bigger and more open than ever. The story of Cal Kestis is very interesting, and players will love it, especially if they are big Star Wars fans.
